MenoPAUSE?

I was reading the new Fitness First magazine for winter which just came out, and there was an article about menopause. Just a random thought but, (I have not done any readings on menopause, or any research since my thought) I know it's just a name, but doesn't pause suggest that it's only temporarily stopped? Does that mean that my periods will pause and stop for a while and one day it'll come back - un-paused?

Yeah, just wanted to know where the name originated from, shouldn't it be more menostop?

I think 'menopause' is the female terminology for 'mid-life crisis' because you pause to reflect on what's happening in your life and end up having an existential crisis instead Lol.

Menopause comes from the Greek "meno-" meaning month and "-pausis" meaning a cessation. Obviously some scientist/doctor thought it would be cool to use Greek. It could be worse. It could have been Latin.

Wow, where did you learn that? Thanks for the info, although weird since it's coming from a guy.
